Harold Estey Gotts

Harold Estey Gotts, 96 died July 5th at the Hoosick falls Health Center after a long illness. He was the loving husband of Katherine Foote Gotts who survives him. They celebrated their 75th anniversary June 14th 2008.

 Born January 14, 1912 in Flint NY he was the son of the late Nelson Gotts & Pearl (Estey) Gotts.

Harold resided in Flint until going to live in Schaghticoke, NY with his daughter and son-in-law in 2004.

Harold graduated from Geneva High School and Rochester Institute of Technology. He worked for the American Can Co. in Geneva for 40 years, retiring in 1973.  He started in the tool room and worked his way up through several positions to become Supervisor of Planning.

Harold was a member of the Aloquin/Flint Methodist Church for 81 years holding positions of treasurer and trustee. He was on the board of the Sandy Hill Cemetery, and furnished material for the historical booklet about the Town of Seneca. He loved gardening (especially flowers) doing crossword puzzles and helping family and friends.

Harold was the devoted father of his daughter Barbara (Ted) Hahn of Schaghticoke; loving brother of Ina Campbell of Flint; beloved grandchildren – Linda (Richard) Kent of Sharon VT, Cynthia Hahn of Newton Center Ma, Kathleen (Joseph) Zola of Hamilton, NJ.  Great grandchildren – Bethany Kent, Brian Kent, Benjamin Zola, Justine Zola and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two brothers Donald and Howard Gotts. 

His family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of the Hoosick Falls Health Center and the teams from Community Hospice of Rensselaer County for their loving care.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his funeral Saturday, July 12th at 11:00 AM at the Aloquin / Flint Methodist Church. Calling hours will be at 10:00 AM at the church.

Interment will be in Sandy Hill Cemetery.
