John "Jack" Peter Dyer of Graves Road passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, October 19, 2013. He was 74.

Born in Canandaigua on October 22, 1938 son of the late John Robert and Mary (Kennedy) Dyer. He is the husband of Sherri L. (Mohan) Dyer whom he married on April 6, 1963 and celebrated 50 years of marriage this past April.

A graduate of Stillwater Central Schools, class of 1957 Jack went on to work for Westvaco Paper Company. He worked for Raloid Tool and Die retiring after 43 years. In 1972 he and Sherri started Dyer's Greenhouse - a hobby that turned into a local staple. In his earlier years he enjoyed trapping, fishing and hunting. A devoted family man, his favorite times were going to the kid's football, wrestling and soccer games and gymnastic meets. Jack loved vacationing with family especially to Maine, Newfoundland and Ireland as well as Disney World.

Survivors in addition to his wife Sherri include their children, John (Deanna) Dyer of New Smyrna, FL, Lisa (Tom) Druding of North Wales, PA, Tim (Michelle) Dyer of Syracuse, Mary Ann (Keith) Kreuzer of Wynantskill and Zack (Sandra) Dyer of Stillwater. Grandchildren Patrick, Kiel and Drew Dyer, Emily Kreuzer, Erin and Kathleen Druding, Caleb and Molly Dyer. Also survived by his brother in law Joe Mehan.

Jack is predeceased by his sisters, Mary Marmillo and her husband Gerald and Ann Mehan.

Relatives and friends may call from 4-8pm on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 319 Park Avenue, Mechanicville. Funeral Mass will be conducted at noon on Thursday at All Saints on the Hudson, South Church 121 North Main Street, Mechanicville. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Stillwater.

In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations to the Stillwater Ambulance Fund or the Arvin Hart Fire Department in memory of Jack.
